SWORD Urban Emergency
The ability to react to critical events is a crucial skill for managers facing increasing risks emerging from the complexity of large industrial systems, the interlocking of vulnerable networks, the multiplicity of involved actors, and the uncontrollable effects of media coverage. This ability can only be developed on purpose through managers' training. These trainings will, on one hand, allow managers to test existing emergency procedures and cooperation between organizations, and, on the other hand, familiarize them with unfamiliar and stressful crisis situations.
SWORD Urban Emergency provides a new training system for crisis managers, based on innovative simulation tools, allowing trainers to easily recreate the most complex crisis situations. Simulation tools offer unprecedented control to the trainer over the training session while making the virtual crisis reactive to the trainee’s actions and providing an unlimited variety of extreme crisis situations, a challenge that even very expensive ground exercises cannot meet.
In fact, such a system fills a gap, in-between outdoor, real-size role-plays, and indoor, analysis of predefined scenarios.
SWORD Urban Emergency relies on MASA’s generic SWORD architecture, allowing networked multi user trainings and providing DIRECTIA®’s breakthrough technology for crowds and autonomous unit’s behaviors simulation. Trainees can give operational high level orders to simulated chain of commands and units who will execute their mission and provide operational reports. This unique feature allows SWORD Urban Emergency to realistically simulate population behaviors as well as first responders.
